Final Music Video
After receiving feedback from our target audience, we have been able to successfully complete our music video with improvements from our earlier rough cut. We are very pleased with our final product, as we think it demonstrates some effective editing and technological skills. We are particularly pleased with the our range of camera shots and how we have achieved a variety of shot types and use of still images and edited them together effectively.

Digipak
This is a digipak which we have created as part of one of our ancilliary tasks to coincide with both the advert and the music video itself. It includes a front cover, back cover, inside cover with lyrics of song, and the image for the cd itself. The images used are from a number of photos which we took during filming. Using images similar to that shown in the video means that there is a consistancy in the corporate image of our products, which allows the audience to identify certain images and colours to the band. We have edited the images shown within the digipak in order to create this 'vintage' effect by using sepia colours and hints of yellow. The same colours are used in both our digipak and our music video to show the link between the two, and to ensure that the digipak reflects the same style and representation of the genre as shown within the video.

Advert
As one of our ancillary tasks we have produced an advert to coincide with the digipak and music video for our product. We used one of the photos from a selection we took on location of filming, which enabled us to keep a consistency in the mise en scene in terms of costumes, location and props. We chose this particular image as we think it the most representative of the band, with the style of the band members and location, which we could adapt to look effective for our audience. This image incorporates a similar colour scheme as to what appears in the video, giving it that same vintage ‘indie’ look to fit in with our genre effectively. The location in particular we believe to be very effective and appeal to our target audience, as it is a very laid back scene, which will appeal to our young audience. As well as the location, the colours are very important in terms of being consistent with the video, as the colours are very washed out and have a yellow tint to the image, creating a retro effect, which is what we intentionally wanted to achieve. The black outline to the advert gives the effect of it being almost like a polaroid photo, making it appear more ‘old’ style which we are particularly pleased with, as it will draw the audiences attention to the main features of the advert, which are the band members themselves. This black outline also allowed us to put the wording in white on top in order to stand out more and so will attract our audience’s attention. We have been consistent with our font throughout both ancillary tasks, this is so the audience can identify this font and wording to the band and song, and therefore will be able to identify more easily with the main product.

Question 1
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
After completing our final music video we have evaluated our work to establish what media conventions have been used within our ancillary tasks. Question 1 allowed us to explain how our final products demonstrate skills of real media products, and we presented this question in a video with a voice over which allowed us to explain our work in depth and using moving images.

Question 2
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

For our second evaluation question we created a powerpoint presentation and uploaded it to slideshare to ensure that our work was well presented. This particular evaluation question allowed us to compare all three ancillary tasks and how they related to each other.
