Audience Research
Our audience reseach has allowed us to identify the main elements which our target audience would expect to see in an indie music video. Many of the comments suggested that many stereotypical features of our chosen genre are things such as sepia colour effects to give that old style atmosphere to the video. As well as this, images of the band are often heavily featured, with band members playing instruments such as drums and guitars. The clothing of the band seems to be a key aspect in existing media products, with clothing such as skinny jeans and tight tops being mentioned several times within our research. Arctic Monkeys appear to be a well known popular band within our target audience, with the majority of the sample for our audience research giving the band a score of 7/10. This is a good start to our project, as it means many of our target audience will be familiar with the band and their music and so will easily identify with our music video.

Storyboard Animatic
This is our storyboard animatic which represents the shots were are going to use for our music video, as well as the timings of the shots with the music. Although we have thought very carefully about our shots, and are keen to follow our storyboard, we are however not sure that all of our footage will follow this, as it is just a guideline.

Location Ideas
We have decided that we will use two main locations for filming our music video, which will be in a studio which we will hire out for the purposes of filming, and also a student house, both inside and out, as this will appeal to our target audience. After researching exisiting products of the same indie music genre, we have became aware that many 'indie' style videos use the band in their day to day life, just having fun chilling out as a band, which is what we want to incorporate in the location of our own video, by having the band sitting around the house and walking outside having fun, which will also help the audience identify with the band. As well as this, music studios are often featured within indie style music videos, as they show the band working together creating and recording music. This is an element which we want to include within our own video, as it looks very effective in terms of establishing the band as a product themselves and also is a great way to show close ups of the instruments and long shots of the band playing as a whole.
This idea of the using the studio was influenced mainly by the video 'Teddy Picker' by the Arctic Monkeys, which shows the band recording their song in the music studio, as well as them hanging out as band outside studio.
For our location, we have also been inspired by the video from the song 'Money' by The Drums, which features the band hanging out outisde their house and walking in the street which is similiar to the shots we would like to achieve.
