Audience Feedback

We have used number of ways to gather audience feedback of our final music video, including using social networking sites such as Facebook, and asking people for feedback in person. Both of which were very useful, as we have been able to use this constructive criticism and indeed positive feedback in order to improve and adapt certain aspects of our video throughout the editing process.

Most of the feedback from our rough cut was taken in person, and a lot of the comments mentioned the lines on video. We were very aware of this problem, however since it was not something which we could change, we instead had to adapt this into our video, by creating a washed out old effect, which means the lines from the poor camera quality are now incorporated to look ‘old’ style which fits in with the indie music genre.

Using Facebook to exhibit our work was the perfect way to draw the attention of our target audience, as we were very much aware of the fact that our target audience have easy internet access and are very much intone with online network sites. This would allow us to appeal to a wide audience to generate as much feedback as possible. Many of the comments from our final edit of the music video were very positive and although some lacked detail, most of which did in fact entail what they liked about the video in terms of mise en scene, editing techniques and camera angles. All of which are useful when analysing and evaluating our work. Below are some examples of the types of feedback we received -
